Ministry Update: Anthony Archibald – Champion with Missionary Ventures GB
MVGB is pleased to share an update from Anthony Archibald, one of our MVGB Champions, who continues to serve faithfully in both local church ministry and international mission work.
Anthony’s journey reflects the heart of MVGB: supporting practical aid, sustainable ministry, and trusted local leaders, while remaining grounded in strong local church involvement.
Local Ministry in North Wales
Anthony is currently based in Balmorris, North Wales, where he has recently joined Elim Church Oasis and is serving as an Associate Pastor. Having moved to the area just a few months ago, Anthony has already become actively involved in pastoral care, church life, and ministry development.
Throughout the coming year, Anthony will be involved in a range of ministry projects as opportunities arise. His role allows him to serve locally while remaining connected to the wider mission work supported through MVGB.
Serving as an MVGB Champion
Alongside his local church role, Anthony serves as a Champion with Missionary Ventures GB. Champions play a vital role in representing MVGB’s work, building relationships, and helping to support mission projects both locally and internationally.
Through this role, Anthony has been able to engage with a variety of outreach initiatives, supporting education, community development, and practical aid projects that make a tangible difference to people’s lives.
South Africa & Swaziland Mission Trip
In May last year, Anthony had the privilege of travelling to South Africa as part of his involvement with MVGB. During this trip, he worked alongside the Missionary Ventures team and travelled onward to Swaziland, where a series of outreach meetings and a community crusade were held.
Over several evenings, large numbers of people attended the services and responded positively to the message shared. Anthony had the opportunity to speak about following Jesus and growing in personal faith. Many people came forward for prayer, encouragement, and salvation, and the response across the Friday and Saturday night meetings was deeply moving.
While exact numbers were difficult to record, it was clear to all involved that God was working powerfully through the services and the wider outreach effort.
Supporting Little Eagles Preschool
Following the outreach work in Swaziland, Anthony returned to Johannesburg to visit Little Eagles Preschool, a project supported by MVGB and very close to his heart.
Along with local partners Hugo and Salome, time was spent with the children through games, activities, and the distribution of small gift parcels containing sweets and presents. Seeing the joy and excitement on the children’s faces was a powerful reminder of the importance of simple acts of kindness and care.
Little Eagles Preschool serves children from vulnerable backgrounds and currently has an urgent need for a proper toilet block. Improving sanitation will significantly enhance hygiene, safety, and dignity for both the children and staff. Anthony has been actively involved in raising awareness and support for this project, trusting God to provide the resources needed to complete this essential work.
Gratitude for Provision and Support
Anthony’s trip to South Africa and Swaziland was made possible through the generosity of supporters, with £1,000 raisedto cover travel and ministry-related costs. This provision enabled Anthony to participate fully in outreach ministry, visit supported projects, and strengthen relationships with local leaders and churches.
Anthony expresses heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed toward the trip, acknowledging that their generosity directly enabled ministry, encouragement, and practical support on the ground.
While in South Africa, Anthony was also invited to speak at an Assemblies of God church in Brakpan, sharing the same message delivered during the Swaziland outreach. The congregation responded warmly, and it provided another opportunity to encourage believers and strengthen links with local church communities.
Family Life and Prayer
Alongside ministry, Anthony remains deeply committed to his family. His children, Jake and Lily Anna, live in Scotland with their mum. Anthony was thankful to spend precious time with them over Christmas and New Year and is looking forward to seeing them again during the school holidays, including an extended visit in April.
Jake has recently taken up playing the guitar and is enjoying developing his musical skills, while Anthony has asked for continued prayer for Lily Anna, who has ongoing medical needs. The family values prayer for wisdom for medical teams, peace for Lily Anna, and God’s healing and care.
Looking Ahead
Anthony continues to serve faithfully in North Wales while remaining committed to MVGB’s wider mission to support practical aid, education, and sustainable community development through trusted local partners.
MVGB is grateful for Anthony’s heart for service and for the supporters who make this work possible through prayer, encouragement, and financial partnership.
