Please pray for our MVGB office and the team this year, that we would see the ministry to ‘love, support and raise up new missionaries’ increase in fruitfulness and multiply.
Please pray for the various relationships the leaders of MVGB will have with church leaders and individual people this year would grow deeper.

They are also working on the translation and distribution of material for Sunday school teachers with a ministry called “Little Hands for Missions”. The goal of this ministry is to train kids on missions, so that the importance of missionary work will be the DNA of the next generation of church leaders.

Missionary Ventures Australia Office
Please pray for the office team, as they partner with churches, schools, and other Christian organisations there to train and send out short term mission teams into the Asia Pacific. They have Field Coordinators in Vanuatu, Phillipines, Fiji, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. In the Philippines they are working with the Mangyan Mountain tribal people, teaching English, doing children’s and youth ministry, holding medical clinics and doing community development. Please pray for them as they build relationships with the people to share God’s love to them and see His kingdom come right up there in the mountains. In May there is a small team going out to the Philippians. They ask if you can pray that each member will contribute their gifts, develop their heart for service and know God’s love and peace in the lead-up. Lindsay (Team leader) would especially appreciate prayer for herself in training, building unity in the team.

There are nineteen people whom we partner with in these areas, and would appreciate if you would pray for these as they work to spread the gospel in many different ways among the tribes and people there.
Missionary Ventures South Africa Office – Lloyd Tabatha
Zambia – Hugo and Salomie du Toit
Although they partnered with MVI in 2006, Hugo and Salomie du Toit have been serving in full time ministry since 1998. Since entering the mission field they have served in the surrounding areas of their home-town Tzaneen, South Africa; completed 6 months training at Operation Mobilization; resided and ministered in Gabon, West Africa; resided and ministered in Sinazongwe, Zambia. Presently, since April 2011, they reside in their hometown Tzaneen, South Africa from where they travel to different countries in Southern Africa – Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho & Swaziland to serve and minister.
Together with the passion and calling to disciple children, they still travel regularly to Sinazongwe, Zambia where they have been serving alongside Ps Bernard Sikabbenu, since January 2008, among the Tonga speaking nationals. In Sinazongwe there are different projects/programs that Hugo and Salomie assist with such as children’s ministry, orphan education, and sewing program for vulnerable ladies, Luzibo Christian Training Centre for church leaders and agriculture projects for the poor.
Hugo and Salomie have a real heart for this part of the world. Pray that they will see children coming through to know God and rise up to be godly men and women who can serve their nation. Please pray for God’s provision for all projects & programs being conducted in Zambia & Mozambique, plus material and sewing products for the sewing project in Zambia. Please pray for open hearts to receive the ministry that will be presented by the team. God’s provision for personal and project funding for the field workers.
Durban (South Africa) – Cathy Potter
Cathy is working in three different Township schools teaching a reading program called ‘Neema’ (developed by teachers for the African context) which is aimed at second language speakers. She has helped two local churches launch the program in their areas and is currently going in every week to teach and to help them with their volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity to mobilize the local church family to serve in very poor communities and to show the love of God through education. We have a tremendous freedom in this country at this point to share our faith with teachers and learners alike.
In addition, Cathy is running sewing and business skills classes in the Zulu township of Embo. They come not just to learn a skill but also to get to know Jesus and understand His love and plans for them as Zulu women living in Embo Valley!

Elizabeth continues to serve in Zambia where she works constantly to reach her goal of spreading the Gospel in every province of the country.

Please pray for all the people in our villages here, hospitals and clinics are still caring for those with Malaria. Pray for health in all the villages around us. Rex and Melinda Guynn have lived in Africa since 2006 and currently reside in the town of Kitgum, Uganda. Along with their team, they spend each day reaching people in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan with the Good News and hope of Jesus Christ. It is their heart to continue to serve in this remote but vital country, equipping pastors, promoting community development and education and reaching everyone they can with the love of Jesus.
Kenya – Deborah Deren
Deborah serves the Maasai tribe in rural Kenya. Through her ministry the Lord has started a growing church and enabled a number of projects to show the love of Christ to the community. She says….
“Our church is still new and is hungry and thirsty for the Word of God. We have over 100 children every Sunday who love to learn and interact with visitors. Our Girls Club meets monthly to build relationships and help Girls 10-15 who are at risk of FGM and early marriage. We are in the process of drilling a deep well to provide clean water to the surrounding community. Once we have a reliable source of water there are many agricultural projects we can begin to help the community with.
We periodically go out into the bush with the local Maasai MD and do a mobile bush clinic and have had a team to do eye testing clinics for those living remotely. We have a program for providing hot lunches to the children at the nearby school. We have a ministry for Natural Medicine, growing plants that cure malaria and other ailments. We administer a Micro-Loan program to help small business owners become self-sustainable. Everything we get involved in is an opportunity to show the love of Christ in action.”
Mozambique – Jaco and Inge le Roux
Jaco and Inge le Roux, with their two boys, Ernan & Lander have been serving full time in Mozambique since 2012. Out of God’s passion for Mozambique, Seed to the Sower ministry (S2S) was birthed. S2S identifies, trains and equips Church leaders to launch discipleship movements outside the church building. By using a fixed curriculum, they specifically wrote for Mozambique, we are challenging the Church of God to have an outward focus.
Additionally, God has also blessed Jaco and Inge with a gifting that enables them to start opportunities that can help uplift and sustain churches, communities, and the country in the long term. “Negócios do Reino Lda” (Kingdom Business) was formed to use farming projects or business opportunities to fulfill this calling. Currently, they are producing coconut oil and exporting both oil and fresh coconuts as a means to support this ministry and communities.
Mozambique – Kevin and Katherine Bubna
Kevin and Katherine Bubna live and minister in Lichinga, Mozambique, in the most northern province, Niassa, where over 90% of the people are Muslim. We minister primarily to the Yao and Makua tribes spread out over two provinces and several districts. Known as Great Harvest International Ministries, GHIM is all about disciples making disciples. We realized years ago that the best way to reach Africans is through Africans. They know the culture, they know the languages, and our team of evangelists know how to develop relationships and start Discovery Bible Studies in village after village where the Gospel has never reached. Our vision is far reaching but simple and doable with God’s help: A church for every village.
To do this we are committed to multiplying disciples and creating a self-supporting indigenous team of leaders whom we will continually disciple until the vision is accomplished or Jesus comes. To initiate the potential for self-sustaining Christian communities in a poor nation where most villagers simply have a piece of land granted by their government, but often lack seeds and farm tools, donations to subsistence categories of MVI are the impetus to long-lasting potentially perpetual aid, as the discipleship groups cultivate fields along with their spiritual growth.
