“What Disciple-Making Is Really About”
“What Disciple-Making Is Really About”
“Make disciples of all nations… I am with you always.” — Jesus
Disciple-making begins with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus said, “They will all be taught by God” (John 6:45), and the new covenant promise is that people will know the Lord for themselves (Hebrews 8:11).
This is the heart of disciple-making:
helping people hear the Father’s voice, follow Jesus, and walk in obedience through the power of the Holy Spirit.
MVGB joins the Father in His ministry of reconciliation — helping sons and daughters come home to Him, and equipping believers to make disciples who help others do the same.
Disciple-making isn’t complicated.
It’s relational, simple, Spirit-led and for every believer.
Many people are searching for truth, identity and hope — but they may never walk into a church or hear a sermon.
At the same time, countless believers feel unsure or unequipped in how to share Jesus with those around them.
Yet the Father is still calling people back to Himself.
He is still drawing hearts.
He is still speaking.
We believe the UK, Europe and the nations need a fresh movement of everyday believers who can:
share the good news of Jesus simply and clearly,
help friends and families hear the Father’s voice for themselves,
walk with new believers as they grow,
and multiply disciples who multiply disciples.
This is why disciple-making matters.
It’s not a programme. It’s not an event.
It’s joining the Father in His ministry of reconciliation — everyday, everywhere.
In 2025 and beyond, MVGB is committed to helping churches and believers recover this simple, powerful calling.
Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is a simple way for anyone to explore God’s Word, hear the Father’s voice and respond in obedience.
It doesn’t rely on experts, teachers or church buildings — it relies on the Holy Spirit speaking through Scripture.
DBS is built on one conviction:
God is already drawing people to Himself. When they open His Word, He will teach them.
That’s why Jesus said, “They will all be taught by God” (John 6:45),
and why Hebrews promises that everyone will know the Lord — from the least to the greatest.
DBS reflects this beautifully.
It helps people:
read a short passage of Scripture,
ask simple questions,
discover what God is saying,
obey Jesus in practical ways,
and share it with others.
It is reproducible, relational and Spirit-led.
Anyone can lead it.
Anyone can learn.
Anyone can multiply it.
This is why DBS is used across the world — in homes, cafés, villages, workplaces, refugee camps, classrooms and online gatherings.
It has become one of the simplest and most powerful tools for disciple-making today.
(Simple • Biblical • Reproducible • Holy Spirit-Led)
1. Anyone can do it
DBS doesn’t require a trained leader or expert.
Anyone who can read a passage and ask a few simple questions can help others discover the Father’s voice.
2. It begins with the Father, not us
DBS trusts that God is already working in people’s hearts.
As they encounter Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches them — just as Jesus promised.
3. It focuses on obedience, not information
The key question is always:
“What will I do with what the Father is saying?”
This creates real discipleship, not just knowledge.
4. It multiplies naturally
Because DBS is simple, it spreads easily through families, friendships and communities.
People share what they learn. Groups multiply. Momentum grows.
5. It works everywhere
Homes, cafés, parks, workplaces, online, refugee communities, rural villages — DBS adapts to any environment because it’s relational and Scripture-centred.
6. It builds communities of disciples
DBS invites people to pray, care for one another, share stories, confess struggles and take steps of faith together — forming communities around Jesus.
A DBS normally happens with 2–6 people and takes around 30–45 minutes. You need a Bible, the Holy Spirit and a willingness to listen.
Here’s the simple flow:
“What are you thankful for this week?”
“Who needs prayer or support?”
This builds relationship, honesty and care.
Read a short passage of Scripture together — once, twice or three times.
Ask the Father to speak as you listen.
Ask these simple discovery questions:
• What does this passage show us about God?
• What does it show us about people?
• What is the Father saying to me personally?
These questions help people hear the Father’s heart directly from His Word.
Each person decides on a simple obedience step:
“What will I do this week in response to what I’ve heard?”
This is where discipleship becomes real.
Everyone answers one last question:
“Who will I share this with?”
This creates natural multiplication — disciples making disciples.
End by praying for one another and the steps each person is taking.
DBS is that simple — but God uses it powerfully.
People hear His voice, obey Jesus, share their faith, and experience transformation in community and their own confidence is grown.
Discovery Bible Study is being used across the world as one of the simplest and most effective disciple-making tools.
It is helping people hear the Father’s voice, follow Jesus in obedience and share the good news with their family, friends and communities.
Here are just some of the ways God is using DBS globally:
DBS groups have taken place in over 170 nations, across every continent and culture — in cities, villages, homes, cafés, refugee centres, universities and online communities.
More than 46,000 DBS gatherings have been recorded in recent years, with believers and seekers alike opening Scripture, hearing the Father’s heart, and responding in obedience.
Pastors, students, families, new believers, church planters, elderly saints, teenagers… DBS empowers every follower of Jesus to join the ministry of reconciliation.
Because DBS is simple, relational and Spirit-led, it spreads naturally.
People share what they discover, groups multiply, and whole communities encounter Jesus.
We partner with believers and churches in the UK, Europe and across the nations to encourage, train and multiply DBS groups.
We believe the Father is drawing people to Himself — and DBS helps us listen to others and help them hear His voice and follow Jesus with joy.
The UK and Europe are full of spiritually hungry people.
Many are disillusioned with religion, disconnected from church, or have never heard the gospel clearly — yet the Father is still calling them home.
We believe DBS is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to help people hear His voice today.
In 2025 and beyond, MVGB is committed to helping:
churches rediscover the simplicity of disciple-making,
believers gain confidence to share Jesus,
communities encounter the Father through Scripture, and
new disciples and disciple groups multiply in everyday places: homes, cafés, online groups, living rooms, workplaces and friendship circles.
DBS is not a programme — it’s a way of life.
It equips ordinary believers to join the Father in His ministry of reconciliation, wherever they are.
We see a growing opportunity across the UK and Europe for a fresh movement of disciples who help others follow Jesus — gently, relationally and Spirit-led.
If your heart is stirred by the simplicity of disciple-making and the beauty of hearing the Father’s voice through Scripture, we’d love to walk with you.
As part of our ministry, we offer gentle, relational support to churches and believers who want to grow in making disciples — whether through conversation, encouragement, workshops, or exploring simple tools like DBS together.
There is no pressure, no programme and no expectation.
Just space to learn, grow and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
At the centre of everything we do is the Father’s desire to draw people back to Himself.
We believe that when people open His Word, the Holy Spirit speaks, Jesus becomes known, and lives begin to change from the inside out.
Disciple-making is simply joining the Father in His work —
hearing His voice, obeying Jesus, loving people, and helping others discover Him for themselves.
Whether in homes, churches, cafés, workplaces or friendship circles, we believe the Father is still saying,
“Come back to Me.”
And we are grateful for every opportunity to walk with those who want to hear Him and follow Him.
