1. Relationship and Collaboration
We aim to listen first. Every ministry flows from friendship, honour and walking with people like Jesus did.
MVGB is a family of believers joining the Father as He calls sons and daughters back to Himself.
Through Jesus, God has opened the way home for every person, and He invites His Church to carry the message of reconciliation to the world.
We exist to help believers, churches and leaders hear the Father’s heart, share the good news of Jesus, and walk with people as they discover Him for themselves.
We are relational, Spirit-led, and deeply committed to making disciples who make disciples — in the UK, Europe and across the nations.
To see people, churches and communities encounter the Father’s love, respond to Jesus Christ, and grow as disciples who make disciples by Holy Spirit — in the UK, Europe and across the nations.
To join the Father in His ministry of reconciliation, helping people hear His voice and come home to Him.
We do this by:
sharing the good news of Jesus with clarity and compassion,
equipping believers to make disciples who make disciples,
strengthening leaders, missionaries and churches,
caring for children, families and communities in need, and
building long-term, relational partnerships with trusted local leaders & ministries.
Through the Holy Spirit, we walk with churches and believers so they can confidently live out the Great Commission in everyday life. While we look to share the gospel in our everyday
1. Relationship and Collaboration
We aim to listen first. Every ministry flows from friendship, honour and walking with people like Jesus did.
2. The Ministry of Reconciliation
We join the Father as He calls sons and daughters home through Jesus Christ. Evangelism and disciple-making are expressions of His love.
3. Disciples Who Make Disciples
We believe every believer can hear God, obey Him, and help others follow Jesus. Tools like Discovery Bible Study (DBS) make this simple and reproducible.
4. Local Church and Leaders
We honour and support the local church, indigenous leaders and pastors, missionaries and community leaders — strengthening their God-given calling and vision.
5. Compassion That Reveals the Gospel
Through practical love in action, care for children, community support and responding to urgent needs after natural disasters, we reflect the kindness of the Father and make space for people to encounter Jesus.
6. Spirit-Led Simplicity
We follow the Holy Spirit with open hands, flexible plans and a willingness to say “yes” to whatever He asks. And teach others to live the same life as Jesus.
Our vision is to see the Gospel communicated in all nations. Our mission to fulfill that vision is to equip and empower the church worldwide to make disciples and transform nations.
Pulling both our vision and mission together, we are “Involving people to impact nations for Christ.”
The principles that drive our mission and shape our purpose:
Consequently, the Board of Directors decided that MVGB would be a “servant organisation”. It was agreed that by working with indigenous Christian leadership we would accomplish long-term missionary endeavours.
It was further decided that MVGB would:
At the heart of the mission is motivating and facilitating individual Christians to respond to God’s mission call. Often this is through joining a short-term mission team, typically for up to two weeks. Many team members have a life-changing experience as they see the world through a new pair of lenses. God stretches and uses them in ways they never imagined. Most continue to be personally involved in mission in either going, giving or praying.
We are a UK registered charity (1067612), and part of Missionary Ventures International, with five offices world-wide. As a Christian mission we operate in every continent but our UK office in Rochdale Manchester, focuses primarily on Eastern and Western Europe, former Soviet countries, Africa, the Middle East and India.
What do we do?
Here in the UK we have friendly and efficient staff who are committed to serving The Church locally and internationally by providing opportunities to get involved in what God is doing all over the world. We do this in three main ways: sending short-term mission teams overseas, raising up short and long term missionaries together with administrating and raising funds for programmes and projects.
How do we work?
Our passion is to see indigenous churches and leaders reach their own people with the love and message of Jesus. We want to partner and serve them to see their God-given visions fulfilled.
We want to see healthy churches which are self-governing. Through a balance of ongoing support and investment in micro-enterprises the aim is always for these churches to become strong and self-sustaining, avoiding the pitfall of dependency. Finally we aim to teach and encourage churches to look beyond their own situations, become mission-minded and carry on the work themselves.
In most countries the work is pioneered by our long-term missionaries who we call Field Coordinators. They form key relationships, develop outreach plans, host short-term teams, oversee new projects and ensure that donated money is used effectively and with integrity.
“Our beliefs as a mission – the lens through which we see God and people.”
“Our story over 30 years in the making. We’ve come a long way, and this is how we started.”
Missionary Ventures is a servant organization comprised of a diverse group of Christians bound together by our love of God and our commitment to serving Him. We are committed to drawing people from all nations into deeply personal relationships with God that brings about transformational change in their lives. Making disciples of all the nations is not only a core value at Missionary Ventures it is our driving passion.
Founded in 1983, Missionary Ventures International was born from an initial involvement by a small team in Guatemala after a devastating earthquake there in 1976. In support of local churches, short-term mission teams were mobilised to help relieve some of the suffering. From these efforts two core values quickly emerged, a commitment to empowering National Christian leadership and a desire to mobilize the church in missions.
From these humble beginnings involvement spread, geographically, numerically as well as a maturing of our strategic ministry focus. Discipleship is the common thread which binds our ministries together at Missionary Ventures. Whether training a pastor, educating a child, or preparing a short-term team member for their cross-cultural experience, we want to see lives transformed and people growing in recognition of the Lordship of Christ.
Today, this vision has grown to include the development of six offices around the globe. Our impact is made by over 140 families in the field, ministering in 75 different nations. By God’s grace the influence of the organization continues to grow rapidly. Everyone is encouraged to become a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and a part of missions – from working full-time on the field to becoming a prayer partner. The strengths of Christians here and abroad combine to make a mighty force.
