Hear how drug rehab centres are bringing new life to people in
St.Petersburg and Pskov in Russia
After visiting Pskov our MVGB Champion partner Anthony is coordinating a fund raising project to see lives transformed by Jesus in 2 drug rehab centres in Russia
Anthony’s heart had been touched and blessed when we visited Pskov last year and together with Mvgb he is coordinating a fund raising effort to help the team build a roof, to keep the rehab centre warm and dry. We witnessed first hand lives who have been deeply and wonderfully affected by the work of the team in the centres and how as one big family who lived together, supported each other and worshipped The Lord together managing to see the healing process of lives devastated by years of drug abuse. The work In Russia is headed up by Pastor Leonind.
It is amazing how God brings life to one person who then brings life to others. This is how The Lord works through ordinary people every day. Pastor Leonid is doing a wonderful work in Russia, his story is faith building, from drugs and gangs to bringing life to others and seeing his work multiply through discipleship is wonderful.

Dear Anthony,
This is the information of our rehab centres.
- The rehab. Centre in St.Petersburg.
The center is situated close to St.Petersburg. There are many drug addicts in St.Pete and there is a great need in this senter.
It was founded by Pastor Leonid Legkov . In 2008 he and the group of first rehab.people moved to an old countryside house close to St.Pete.
The number of people had been growing and they had to rebuild the house by adding more facilities.
Every season they added more and more facilities and now the whole house is about 320 m2 and accommodates 25 people.
But because the house consists of several different pieces the roof started leaking and there came a need in new roof.
2000Euros were taken as a loan to make a complete new roof. They have to pay it back. They could not wait because summer is the best season for work. Then it will be rain season.
They needed:
planks (wood), nails, special fire protection materials, the roofing and other things.
Now they need some materials for gables and the attic
It’s 1300 Euros more.
Total: 3300 Euros
The testimony of Pastor Leonid is very powerful
His life was filled with drugs for 20 years. He’s been in prison. He’s been to hospitals for many times but the doctors could not help him. One day, 20 years ago feeling very broken and desperate he decided to commit a suicide. He took the drugs and made an injection. He was sure he would die. In 2 days he woke up and realized that there is someone who does not want him to die. Then he got to the rehab.center and God has set him free. He restored their family. And now pastor Leonid is serving those who are in great need, captured with drugs.
- Centre in Pskov
Pastor Leonid became a spiritual father for many young guys whom Jesus has set free from drugs.
One of them is Pavel Taschuk. He went through rehabilitation and now his heart is those who need help as well. He is the leader of the center in Pskov. There were more than 50 people who went thru the center and were set free. Now they serve God in many churches of Pskov region and St. Petersburg.
Pavel is originally from St. Pete. We was on drugs for more than 10 years. He got to the center and got saved and set free. Now he is married, has 2 kids. They are a happy family serving Jesus in Emmanuel church. In the home group there are families of former drug addicts. They are happy families now. The Lord has changed their lives completely.
Pavel has been a leader of the rehab.center for several years in 70 km from Pskov.
When he got married he decided to move to Pskov and build a new center close to Pskov (5 km) It will accommodate 15-20 people. Pskov is situated close to the border and there is a drugs traffic
They bought the land, bought the blocks and many other things for the building.
Their needs for now:
1. 1300 Euros for windows
- 1300 Euros for the boiler and the pipes
- 4000 Euros for the roofing, the wood, attic, fire protection materials and
TOTAL: 6600 Euros
