News from Latvia
Blessings to you all! The snow has finally melted here, and we’re enjoying some much nicer days. Now that the cold weather is coming to an end, I’d like to tell you how things are going around here.
March began with a few days off for students and staff. We had a week’s spring break, which marks the beginning of the end of the school year. After these few days off, we’re back and ready to tackle the final stretch until the end of May, when the academic year ends.
With the start of March, we have also opened registration for next year. It always feels strange to start thinking about the next school year before we’ve finished with the current group, but certain things need to be prepared well in advance. Sometimes, each school year requires coordination with teachers who plan their schedules one or two years in advance, which calls for careful planning.
The break also allowed us to start focusing on what’s to come. Just a few days after announcing enrolment for the 2026/27 academic year, we had already received three applications from three different nationalities! We hope that many more will follow and that we can have a good group. More info on BSM here.
After the break, however, it was back to work. March was a busy month with visitors from many different places, including England, Estonia, the United States, and Argentina. This involved lots of trips to the airport and other preparations, but it’s wonderful to see how the school is a special place not only for our students, but also for the many visitors who come and go – people who are a blessing to this place, and who are blessed by it. The generosity of the guest teachers always strikes me, because they not only come to bless us, but also cover all their own plane tickets and expenses.

As I mentioned earlier, we are beginning to feel that the end is drawing near. I have personally started teaching the final subject that I will cover this year: the Synoptic Gospels. All activities and teaching are now focused on supporting them through this transition to the next chapter of their lives, as planned by God. We ask for your prayers so that they may find peace during this time and receive clear guidance from God.
Thank you for being part of what God is doing in this part of the world. Until next time,
The Pecile family
