“We are walking up Ben Lomond, a Munro of 3200ft. approx. to raise funds for a pre-school in S Africa. This school is currently within a garage and has very few to no resources.
We believe if children are educated they will be equipped to change their own future and the future of generations to come.”
Once again Alan and Fiona are heading back out to S Africa and getting involved with a new pre-school project with Missionary Ventures SouthAfrica. They hope to do their first Munro and have got some work colleagues who are kindly giving their time to walk with them by way of support. They hope to walk Ben Lomond in July. Ben Lomond is approx 3200ft and should take around 7hrs to complete.
Fiona and Alan have been working in S Africa for 4 years now and their hope is to raise funds to build a pre-school, provide food and bring hope to the children in one of the poorest regions of S Africa. Currently the children are being educated in a run down garage with very little resources.
Their fist priority will be to make the building safe and provide food. Longer term they hope to build a 3 room building that will offer an environment suitable and practical for learning in.
So this challenge is their first for this pre-school called Hero Day Care. Fiona, Alan and MVGB take great encouragement from the support for the previous project which saw that pre-school reach the top 5% in their area. Lets do it again and offer a brighter future for the children of Hero Day Care.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you would like to know more please get in touch.
