We have lived in Africa since 2006 and currently reside in the town of Kitgum, Uganda. This region is well known for the 22 year rebel war led by Joseph Kony and his army, The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). More than 20,000 children were abducted and forced into battle against their own families. The pain, loss and remnants of war are evident everywhere, but the Lord has a plan for the Acholi People. Uganda has suffered under a string of violent regimes such as Idi Amin’s. Civil war, rebel conflicts and the AIDS epidemic have hurt the region tremendously. Rex and Melinda along with their team spend each day reaching people in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan with the Good News and hope of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, community and school outreach projects.
