Reflecting on the Last 12 Months: Stories from the Field
Over the past months, the missionaries we relate to across different nations have shared with us, in their own words, what this season has been like.
Much of our role is to work quietly behind the scenes, supporting and walking alongside those serving in different places. These reflections offer a glimpse into that wider work — just three of the many areas we relate to and are involved in.
What follows is not simply a summary of activity, but a reflection shaped by their experiences — moments of encouragement, challenge, growth and faith. Thank you for being a part of their stories.
Spain: Growth, New Life and Expanding Vision
As Eli and Sherling Sanchez, and their family, shared with us, there was a strong sense of life and forward movement in Spain. Their reflections carried both joy and a deep commitment to what is continuing to take shape.
Churches are now established in Madrid, Seville, Bilbao and Valencia, each with its own story. One moment that stood out was the Madrid church finally securing its own building after many years of waiting — something that has brought both stability and renewed vision.
They also shared about the church in Bilbao, where a young couple, trained over several years, have now stepped into leading a new work. As they begin this journey with their young family, there is both excitement and the reality of building something from the ground up.
In Valencia, the Blass family have begun planting a church while settling into a new rhythm of family life. In Seville, Sherling shared the joy surrounding Melissa’s healthy pregnancy after previously being told this may not be possible — a deeply personal moment of hope.
Across the churches, baptisms continue to be a significant expression of new life. Held three times a year, these gatherings have seen many take this step, with 54 baptisms shared with us in their reflection.
They also spoke about the development of a Bible School programme connected with a university in Central America, now involving nearly 70 students from within the churches.
Alongside these encouraging moments, they were honest about ongoing challenges — particularly the difficulty of finding suitable buildings for new church plants. Navigating legal processes and local requirements continues to require creativity and perseverance.
As they look ahead, there is a clear sense of vision — more churches, more families, and a continued desire to see people step into what God is calling them to.
Moldova: Seeds of Hope and a New Direction
Victor Neagu, together with his daughter Charisse, shared reflections that felt both personal and purposeful.
A key part of this season has been returning to Moldova — something that has become a regular opportunity to serve. During these visits, Victor spends time in schools, giving out Bibles and sharing God’s love with children. Around 750 Bibles are needed each time so that every child can receive one. As MVGB, we are preparing to return in May, and would value prayer for this time, as well as support towards providing these Bibles.
He also shared about a recent trip where he was joined by Darren (MVGB) and three young people from his church. Together, they were able to spend time with the children in a meaningful way, building connection and offering encouragement.
At the same time, Victor spoke honestly about a transition he has been navigating. After many years in youth ministry, he has sensed a shift towards a more evangelistic focus. This has brought both uncertainty and growth, as he continues to follow that leading
His reflection on this time was simple but clear — a season of learning, adaptability and a growing awareness of how God is at work, often in unexpected ways.

Latvia: Training, Challenges and Resilience
From Latvia, Mauro and Julia Martinez, along with Matias and Santa Pecile and their families, shared reflections centred around both encouragement and challenge within the Baltic School of Ministry.
Recently, Darren and Susan returned from time spent with the school, where they took part in a ‘checkpoint’ — a moment to pause and reflect together on the past year with the students.
They were joined by Wayne and Lucy Hudson from Go and Tell Ministries, who spent time sharing their story with the students. They spoke about the call to go and share the gospel, and what it means to walk as Jesus walked — something that deeply encouraged and challenged those present.
There have also been many encouraging moments — including a shared trip to Manchester, strengthening relationships and creating lasting memories. The year concluded with a joyful graduation, and it was especially encouraging that four students chose to remain and serve as part of the team.
There are currently 5 students, with a desire to welcome more in the future.
At the same time, there have been real challenges. Several students were unable to complete the course, which brought both practical pressures and emotional weight for those leading. This has prompted reflection and a desire to learn and adapt for the future.
Practical difficulties have also been present, particularly with the building’s heating system during a cold winter — something that has added to the strain of the season.
Even so, there is a sense that important lessons have been gained. Words that capture this time well are unity, challenge and adaptation.

A Prayer as We Look Ahead
Father, we thank You for the honesty and faithfulness in these reflections.
We lift Eli and Sherling, Victor and Charisse, Mauro and Julia, Matias and Santa, and all those serving alongside them. Strengthen them, provide for them, and guide each step ahead.
Would You continue to open doors, raise up people, and bring lasting fruit from all that has been started.
Amen.
Walking Together
As these stories are shared, we are reminded that much of what God is doing happens quietly — in faithfulness, in perseverance, and in everyday obedience.
We remain grateful to be able to walk alongside those serving in different nations, sharing in both the encouragements and the challenges of the journey.
As we reflect on all that has been shared, we are thankful for every step taken, every life reached, and every moment of faith lived out. These stories continue — and it is a privilege to hold them together.
